FAMILY MEMBERSHIP PRIVILEGES:
Membership rights will be extended to the dependent members of the immediate family of each club member, if living in the same household. Members shall register the names and ages of these family members entitled to Club privileges. Membership cards will be issued to members 21 years or older.
PAYMENT OF MEMBERSHIP DUES AND CHARGES:
Monthly membership dues are payable upon receipt of invoice. A finance charge of 1.5% ($3.00 minimum) will be charged monthly on all balances in the arrears more than 30 days. Any member who is delinquent for a period of 60 days will, at the discretion of the management, be suspended from membership privileges or, in extreme cases, to membership cancellation. Member agrees to pay $25.00 for each dishonored bank check.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE:
Under special circumstances and once in a lifetime, subject to the approval of the management, a leave of absence may be granted to a member(s) in good standing. There is a one time fee for this privilege equal to one-third (1/3) of the total annual dues for the period of the leave. (See Membership Contract.)

Members shall have the privilege of bringing guests to the Club. Guests will be limited to (5) visits per year irrespective of the number of members inviting that guest. Management reserves the right to limit visitation of the facility by any guest(s). Special arrangements must be made with management, if more frequent guest visitation is desired. This will insure the maximum use and enjoyment of the Club facilities by Club members, for whose benefit the Club is principally operated.
All guests must register and guest fees paid before entering the Club. There will be a charge for ANYONE OF ANY AGE using the Bear Creek Country Club Facility. Note: ALL GUESTS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A MEMBER OF THE CLUB WHO IS 14 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER and be present for the duration of their visit. A note or phone call is recommended from member Parent indicating permission to bring a guest(s) and charge guest fee(s) on account.
Look under General Rules and Regulations, “Reservations”, regarding
groups or parties more than 6 Guests.
It shall be the responsibility of each member to familiarize his (her) guest with all the Club rules and regulations. Furthermore, it shall be the responsibility of each member for the conduct of his (her) guest.
The management reserves the right and at its sole discretion may admonish members and/or guests, privately or otherwise, to comply with the rules & regulations of the Club. In the event of recurring or continuing violation, the management shall have the right to discipline the member(s) and/or guest by suspension of Club privileges appropriate to the offense. In its sole discretion, the management may cancel the membership of any offender, but shall first give the member a reasonable opportunity to transfer his/her membership.
TENNIS COURT RULES:
Tennis court apparel shall be appropriate for tournaments. Tennis shoes are required on court at all times. When a tournament is in progress, disposition of the courts shall rest in the hands of the committee
conducting the tournament.
If management institutes a new system of assigning use of the tennis courts to further the enjoyment of them by the greater number of players; tennis players' use of the courts shall be governed by the system then in effect
.
The tennis court lights must be off promptly at 10:00PM and all gates locked and secured by tennis member(s) using them. Please, if you bring a guest, sign the guest register on the inside fence of court #1. We are on the honor system.

SWIMMING POOL & HYDRO-SPA:
Use of the swimming pool is permitted only when a Staff member or Lifeguard is present and on duty, or other qualified adult designated by Club management assumes supervisory role.
The Hydro-Spa may be used as follows:
a. Under 10 years old - Parent(s) must be in attendance at the Hydro-Spa
b. 10 y/o or older – Parents/ Adults (optional)
c. Santa Cruz Public Health Department states that young children
cannot tolerate long periods of time in a hot tub as it can lead to heatstroke.
Kindly abide the guidelines as they are for everyone’s safety.

Pool Regulations: Proper swimwear that is suitable for general public viewing is the only form of swim attire permitted. Cut-offs and frayed clothing are not permitted in the pools.
All persons with unrestrained hair over 6 inches in length shall wear hair ties or a swimming cap in the pool or Hydro-Spa.
Barrettes, hairpins, chewing gum, jewelry etc. must be removed before entering the pool or Hydro-Spa. Please shower before entering the pool, Hydro-Spa or Sauna. Santa Cruz Public Health Department wants chlorine showered off prior to entering the Sauna.
There will be no running, rough-housing, wrestling, pushing, spitting, dunking or excessive splashing in the pool, Hydro-Spa or pool areas. Use the skimmers if needed for any nasal exudate.
Only one person shall dive from the diving board at a time. Double springing off the diving board is prohibited. There shall be no diving from the sides of the diving board.
The management and/or staff may at any time restrict diving privileges of anyone not complying with the safety regulations of the Bear Creek Country Club.
No rocks, metal, or foreign objects may be thrown or brought into the Swimming Pool, Hydro-Spa, or Sauna.
Management and/or lifeguards may restrict use of swim fins, snorkels, etc. during peak-use periods of the day. Only goggles with shatterproof lenses will be permitted in the pool. At no time may any of the items mentioned above be used in the Hydro-Spa except goggles. No jumping from the diving board with facemasks on. (This prevents bloody noses at the least.)
Inflatable equipment is not permitted in the pool except plastic tubes less than two feet in diameter. No tube tires or rafts will be permitted in the pool. The management and/
or swimming supervisor reserves the right to limit any of the above flotation devises in the pool at any time as these inhibit guarding visibility.
Glass bottles of any type are not allowed in the pool area. This includes the Tables on the pool deck. Ask for plastic cups. All drinks & food are to be kept away from and out of the pool, Hydro-Spa, or Sauna, The kitchen is to be kept clean
at all times. Any food or drink left in the kitchen will be discarded by staff before closing that evening, Alcoholic beverages are not to be left unattended in the kitchen area at any time.

Smoking is restricted to the “designated smoking area” by the shuffleboard courts and adjacent pool area. PLEASE do not attempt to smoke in the Clubhouse or any other enclosed areas of the Country Club. This is a Santa Cruz County Ordinance. Please be sensitive to other members down wind of your smoke.
All swimmers must obey the lifeguard(s) on duty at all times. Any member not complying will receive first a warning and for repeated offenses, a denial to use the Country Club. The severity of the offense will determine the length of time of non-usage.
SAUNA & EXERCISE ROOMS: The Sauna may be used by anyone 16 years of age or older. It is recommended strongly that pregnant women and anyone with a heart condition consult their physician before using the sauna. Furthermore, it is recommended that no one use the Sauna for more than 30 minutes per day. Please telephone one hour in advance for the Sauna to be turned on.
Wet bathing suits are not allowed in the Sauna or Exercise room, and a towel should be used to sit on, when using the Sauna. The exercise room may be used by anyone 16 years
or older during normal club hours of operation unless given prior
permission.
Proper gym clothes must be worn in the exercise rooms at all times. This includes gym shoes for your safety. Gym equipment may not be moved at any time, please ask the management for assistance.
GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS:
Courtesy, politeness, respect and good sportsmanship shall be observed at all times. There shall be no shouting, boisterous conduct, loud or profane language or other practices that may be annoying or offensive to other Club members or that interferes with their enjoyment of the Club facilities.
Reservations must be made with the Management for the use of the Pool, Hydro-Spa, Clubhouse, picnic and barbeque areas or other Club facilities at least two weeks in advance of an occasion if there are 6 or more Guests. The Group Rental Fees shall apply. Note that if a GROUP PARTY IS PLANNED (that is 2 or more Families get together for a party) of 12 or more, reservations must be made. Any conflict with subsequent reservations will be handled on a "First Come First Served Basis." Other deciding factors include the number of people in each party and/ or Staffing for that day.
A Party/Event Sheet must be filled out and the GROUP RENTAL FEE will be used to determine the payment. NB: payment must be received no later than the event date. A formal contract is required if the event exceeds 20 persons. A deposit is required at the Contract signing. There will be no refund of Guest fees.
The Clubhouse, pool areas, picnic and barbecue areas will be kept clean and neat by member(s) and/or guest(s) using the same. There is no rock throwing allowed.
Cigarettes, cigars, plastic, waste papers and refuse must be deposited in the waste receptacles provide throughout the facility. Please recycle plastic containers and aluminum cans.
The Club telephone shall be used for emergencies only. The Management reserves the right to allow local non-emergency call by members.
In the clubhouse, no wet bathing suits. Only proper attire with shoes or flip-flops is permitted. The management reserves the right to refuse access to anyone not properly dressed in this manner.
Wireless Internet Access: must be at least 18 year old to use. FEES are charged only for printouts at $.15 per page. All copies are Black & White. Services are available on an intermittent basis during POOL OPERATION HOURS 12 - 7PM only (Seasonally May through September). There is a “Hold Harmless Agreement” to sign prior to access.
In the Clubhouse there are two pool tables: One for Adult. Use (18 or over): and another for junior use (10 y/o through 17). NOTE; please observe management rules at ail times regarding same.

The Club will not be liable to any member or guest for any damage to member or guest's property, by theft, casualty or otherwise. Valuables should be secured in private lockers or checked at the Club office. The Bear Creek Country Club takes no responsibility for lost or stolen items on Club premises. The Club will not be liable to any member or guest for any personal injury or other damage caused by the negligence on the part of any person (member or guest).
Any damage to the Club or to Club property shall be the responsibility of the member or the member guest causing such damage. An estimate will be provided to member(s) and remuneration will be expected immediately.
No petition or subscription forms shall be circulated on the Club premises, nor shall solicitation of funds for any purpose be made. Only the Club may offer goods and/or services for sale on Club premises,
No business or profit making activity may be operated or conducted on Club premises.
Member(s) shall immediately notify the Club management of any changes of address, telephone) or new arrivals.
Committees (both advisory & appointed) may be selected or elected from the membership to aid in conducting the social activities and athletic programs of the Club.
Credit and charge privileges shall be available to any adult member(s) by arrangement or to their family member(s) by special arrangement with management.
Any damage, vandalism, or theft of Club property shall be punished to the full extent of the law.
Membership does not confer any proprietary interest in or to the Bear Creek Country Club or Club property.
Membership in the Club does not confer any voting rights whatsoever. Member(s) are encouraged and welcome to participate in committee activities regarding Club decisions, and will have the aid and cooperation of the management unless contrary to its’ policy.
Management at its’ sole discretion, reserves the right to interpret, enforce, amend and alter these rules and regulations without notice.
